William b 1817 (CF-040) along with Thomas b 1811 (CF-045) and James b 1824 (CF-046) who came to Edinburgh in the 1830s all appear to be brothers and to be sons of William md 1805 Mary Hoat. DNA from a Thomas descendant indicates they are part of the Dalmellington family.

William md 1805 might be William b 1766, possible son of William and Mary Templeton. William who md Mary Templeton may be William b 1722, son of William.
